Chinook Salmon

        
Of the five species of Pacific salmon, the Chinook and Coho are the most important to anglers. Chinook is the larger of the two and highly prized among anglers. Chinook salmon are also known as king salmon or spring salmon. Sometimes misspelled as samon or samen. Many Seaside Oregon fishing charters offer trips for Chinook on larger boats that accommodate up to 20 persons, but guided trips are a more fun and personal trip and tend to be more productive as well.

Columbia River White Sturgeon Fishing

 
The northwest is home to the largest population of great white sturgeon in the world. The lower Columbia River at Astoria, in the beautiful Columbia River estuary, offers sportsmen top quality sturgeon angling opportunities throughout the year.

 

This trip provides plenty of action and fun for veteran as well as beginner anglers. Keeper Sturgeon range from 42" to 60" though many are hooked under and over that size. These fish are known to provide some of the best eating meat of any freshwater species.

 

Astoria Oregon Fishing Guides

 

The mighty Columbia River offers top quality angling opportunity for sturgeon throughout the year. In May the baitfish begin entering the lower Columbia River and by June the Sturgeon fishing is red hot in the Astoria area.
